Exploring Chikmagalur - Part 1

Day One 08/9/2013

Started 05300 from Home Prasad and my me on B'bird and Ravi and Karthik on Hunk. Planing has to reach Mudigere by 0900hrs and take breakfast at there. Around 0630 reached Puttur town and took diversion towards Uppinangadi, road condition was pretty good and there was no rain so easy to push the bike hard.

Took a brake  for breakfast  at Uppindangadi and continued towards Kottigehara via Charmadi Ghat.

Annappa swamy temple located in the middle of Cahrmady Ghat section almost all the tourist vehicles stops and prays for safe journey.

Kottigehara Town

Kottigehara located on top of the Charmady Ghat filled up fuel and continued the journey on straight roads going between paddy fields.

Till Mudigere there is nothing special to see except sceanary because we already covered this route in our Belur and Halebidu Trip Around 1100 hrs reached Chikmagalur the land of coffee. As soon as entered the town a huge board welcomes you to the Land of coffee.

 Inside the town roads were wide and moderate Sunday morning traffic. Our next destination was Mullayyanagir and there was no chance to get food over there so we decided to fill our stomachs and managed to get a good Hotel opposite to K.S R.T.C Stand.

Our next destination was Mullayyanagiri which is located in the Chandra Dhrona Hill Ranges of Western ghat, with a height of 1930 Meters and it's a highest peak between Himalayas and Nilagiris. Total Distance between Chikmagalur and Mullayanagir is 22 Km.

  While ascending the peak saw a direction board of Sithalayyana Mutt while returning visited the same.
