Trip to Nanjangud and Lepakshi Part - 1

DAY ONE 7th DECEMBER 2014

Started my trip on early morning 05hrs from Virajpet.. Yes this trip started from Virajpet, Kodagu because due to some official work previous day I went Kannur and instead of coming back to home town that night stayed at Virajpet just 110km far from Kannur.

Super smooth road, chilled weather and low traffic was perfect for cursing but cold prevents me to exceed 50kmph speed.  To keep body warm too a tea break at Gonikoppal and continued towards Hunsur.

I  had already seen earlier on my Coorg and Mysore trip so decided to skip the Mysore and directly went to Nanjangud via Ring road.

Beautiful lake on the way to Nanjangud

After crossing outskirt of the Mysore a beautiful lake and paddy field forced me to stop a photo shoot.

After crossing temple took stop for breakfast on Highway side hotel and reached Nanjangud around
0900hrs.  Parked blackbird near temple and first  decided to go inside the temple. There was a huge queue for Darshan along with this they also sell  easy darshan tickets for Rs.20 per head. We opted for second one and reached inside the temple withing a minute.

Photography is prohibited inside the temple especially in the area where idol located. Originally this temple was built by Ganga's Period, and later renovated by Hosyala Kings. And later it was look after by Mysore Wodeyars.

After clicking few photographs around the temple headed towards next destination i.e Ranganathittu bird Sanctuary, which is located outskirt of the Mysore.

Around 1130hrs reached Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary which was located in Mandya district of Karnataka. Boating facility also available here. I have only limited knowledge about birds and cannot identify accurately so just posting some of the photos.
